Nikon XF total station

FEATURES & BENEFITS

OVERVIEW

Nikon XF mechanical total stations are packed with features that make survey work easier and faster.

The Nikon XF portfolio allows professionals to select the ideal electronic distance measuring (EDM) technology based on their specific project needs. As a high-performance gps total station and reliable land surveying total station, the Nikon XF series is widely regarded as a best total station machine for modern surveying applications. It ensures accurate, efficient fieldwork through proven workflows and a powerful range of advanced features, making it a top choice for surveyors, engineers, and construction professionals seeking precision, productivity, and dependable survey equipment performance.

  • Dual color touch screens, allow Survey Basic, Survey Pro, and Layout Pro to run onboard and easily be controlled from both faces
  • Superior Nikon optics for crisp, bright sightings even in low light conditions
  • Trimble L2P ready, for easy, effective tracking, so you always know where your assets are
  • Hot-swappable batteries, in the field, Nikon XF reduces the need for downtime
  • Lightweight, compact design makes the total station easy to store, transport and handle.

Choose the EDM for the work you do:

Both the Nikon XF and Nikon XF HP total stations can measure to prisms and non-prism objects at various ranges, the EDM technology in each lends itself to specific situations.

Nikon XF: Time of Flight EDM strenghs

  • Long Range
  • Very poweful, very fast
  • Autofocus powered by Nikon for quick, precise focus

Nikon XF-HP: Phase Shift EDM strenghs

  • Easy non-prism edge and corner measurements
  • High precision
  • Extended battery life

Nikon XF mechanical total station is durable too–standing up to the toughest worksite conditions. Surveyors all over the globe rely on Nikon XF to deliver exceptional results, wherever their work takes them.

Nikon XF mechanical total station is built tough for all occasions

The beam of light used for measurement spreads out as it travels from the source. When measuring edges such as steel frames in reflectorless mode, the spot size affects the measurement accuracy. Smaller spot sizes are advantageous for usage as in Fig 5.

LASER CLASS

Nikon XF

Class 1

Nikon XF HP

Prism Measurement: Class 1

Reflectorless: Class 3R

Class 1

Class 1 lasers do not cause direct danger if another surveying instrument is pointed into the source of the Class 1 laser beam. The IEC standard 60825-1 states,“Lasers that are safe under reasonably foreseeable conditions of operation, including the use of optical instruments for intrabeam viewing.”

Class 3R

Direct in-beam observation may cause eye damage. The risk of eye damage increases with exposure time, and intentional eye exposure is dangerous. Class 3R visible-light lasers are considered safe for unintentional eye exposure. To deliberately look into or stare into the beam can cause eye damage.
